The software freezes or says Not Responding during a calculation. What can I do, and how do I report a repeatable hang?

A long-time forum regular noted that the only freezes they see come from vectors with a huge number of nodes or very large bitmaps. One user found a repeatable hang when ticking a single option in a Create Shape form; the workaround was to leave that option off until the file could be examined. A staff member then described a built-in diagnostic: Help menu > Troubleshooting > Enable Hang Detection. With it on, the software closes out and raises a bug report more aggressively when it appears to hang, which gives the developers something to analyze. Staff cautioned against leaving it on all the time, because a long calculation that would have finished can be cut short; use it when a freeze is repeatable. Steps

1. Before heavy operations, use File > Increment and Save. The documentation explains it adds 1 to a trailing number in the file name and never overwrites an existing file.
2. If the hang repeats, turn on Enable Hang Detection, reproduce it and let the report upload.
3. Send the .crv or .crv3d file and the exact steps to the maker's support team (the Help menu links to their support page). If the file is too large for the forum, share a cloud link.
4. After a crash, look for the recovery copy: the documentation says the software tries to save your project alongside the original and offers a crash report dialog.
