What are the sign-in, license, and Makerspace screens for? V&Co accounts, the License Dialog, and registration

Signing In (V&Co)
Signing in to your V&Co account is optional for day-to-day use. It streamlines license management and unlocks cloud features rather than gating the software. Benefits: tool database backup and retrieval, convenient online license entry, and free clipart. Sign-in points: the Sign In button in the top-right bar, the License Dialog, the Tool Database dialog, and the Clipart Tab.
License Dialog
Opened from Help ► Enter License Code (and during first-run). It activates the software and manages optional modules. Two paths:
- Online: the dialog opens a browser to your V&Co login and retrieves your license details automatically.
- Manual: load a .vlicence file downloaded from V&Co, or type the License Code and Registered User Name directly.
After activation, an Add Module button on the summary screen takes module codes (for example the Laser Module), and the dialog can restart the software when a change requires it.
License Registration
Shown mainly when the software came bundled with a machine purchase. You have a 90-day window to register the initial license to your own V&Co account, which converts it into personalized license details and enables the online features. Options on the screen: Register Now, Enter Personal License Details (if already registered, which jumps to the License Dialog), or Register Later (keep working, get reminded).
Makerspace Login
Only relevant to the Makerspace Edition used by shared workshops. It appears automatically at launch if you are not logged in. Members with a V&Co account hit Login/Sign In (browser-based), and new members choose Register and enroll with an email address. Regular licensed copies never show this dialog.
Pro tips
- Sign in once and license moves to a new PC become trivial, because the Online path pulls everything from your account. For transfer problems, second-hand licenses and code issues, see the licensing entry on new computers, code problems and buying a used copy.
- The Kickstarter Wizard walks these same screens in order on first launch. See the Kickstarter Wizard entry.
