What is the latest version of VCarve Pro and Aspire right now, and is version 13 out yet?

Updated Oct 13, 20262 min readVCarve Pro & Aspire

The short answer

As of September 30, 2026, version 12.5 is the newest released version of both VCarve Pro and Aspire. The newest build inside 12.5 is 12.511. Version 13 has not been released.

How this was confirmed

  1. The official Program Updates page lists 12.5 at the top of the table for Aspire, VCarve Pro, VCarve Desktop, Cut2D Pro and Cut2D Desktop. The download on that row is dated September 22, 2026. The next row down is 11.5.
  2. The official documentation site has a 12.5 manual as its newest. There is no version 13 manual online.
  3. The official 12.5 release notes list builds from 12.502 (the original 12.5 release) up to 12.511.

What about version 13?

A version 13 preview was shown publicly at a user group meeting in October 2025, and a published write-up of that preview describes an AI model-creation tool, an assembly view for multi-part projects and improved toolpath preview shading. None of that is in 12.5, and the software maker has not posted a version 13 download or manual. Treat any version 13 feature list as a preview, not a promise, until the official What's New page for it exists.

What to do

  1. Open Help > About to see the version and build you are running.
  2. If you are on 12.5 but below 12.511, use Help > Check for Updates or the Program Updates page to get the current patch.
  3. If you are on 12.0, the move to 12.5 is a free minor update for owners of version 12.

Pro tips

  • A separate Mac-native product from the same maker, Spark, shows a version 1 release dated September 9, 2026 on the same Program Updates page. It is a different program, not a new version of VCarve Pro or Aspire.
  • Builds 12.508 and later changed the file format, so read the entry on 12.508 compatibility before updating one computer but not another.
  • See the entry on point-release changes for what each 12.5 build fixed.
