What the membership includes, how credits work, and what happens if you cancel.
What is the Kinetic Carving membership?
A paid plan, billed monthly or yearly, that adds download credits with every payment. Members can browse the full design library, download members-only designs with credits, and use member tools and partner discounts where offered. Current prices, credit amounts and benefits are on the membership page. The membership renews automatically until you cancel.
What is the difference between monthly and annual?
Both plans include the same membership. Monthly is charged every month and adds a month of credits each time. Annual is charged once a year and adds the whole year of credits up front. Monthly payments are non-refundable. Annual payments can be refunded within the time limit in the Refund Policy if none of that year's credits have been spent. Both renew automatically until you cancel, and current prices are on the membership page.
How many credits do I get?
Credits are added every time a membership payment succeeds, including your first. Monthly members get a month of credits each month, and annual members get the whole year of credits up front. The current amounts are on the membership page. Every design shows its credit cost before you download, so you always know what you will spend.
Do unused credits roll over?
Yes. Unused credits roll over with no limit and do not expire while your account exists, so a slow month is never wasted.
Can I buy more credits?
Yes. Active members can buy credit packs from My Membership, and pack credits follow the same rules as membership credits. Credit packs are for active members only: if one is bought without an active membership, the order is refunded and no credits are added.
How do I cancel my membership?
Online, anytime, with no cancellation fee. Sign in, go to My Membership, choose Manage or cancel membership, then cancel on the Billing page that opens. You can also cancel by emailing us. You keep full access until the end of the period you already paid for, and Billing shows that end date.
What happens to my credits if I cancel?
Your credit balance is kept. While your membership isn't active, credits can't be spent. They stay recorded on your account and become spendable again if you re-subscribe.
What happens to files I already downloaded if I cancel?
The File License is permanent for files you have obtained and continues after a membership ends. The files you already obtained stay yours to download again at no further credit cost.
Downloads and files
How downloading works, re-downloads, file formats, and machine compatibility.
How do downloads work?
Members download with credits straight from the design page, with no checkout. Every design shows its credit cost before you download. Designs that are not members-only can also be bought individually at checkout, and the download link arrives in your order email.
Can I re-download a file I already got?
Yes, at no extra cost. You can download a design you got with credits again from Download history on My Membership without spending another credit, including after your membership ends. If you bought a design at checkout, use the download link in your order email. If a download link has expired, contact us and we will reissue it free.
What file formats are included?
Vector designs come in our standard set: a Lined SVG (vector paths, best for CNC and laser cutting), a Filled SVG (solid shapes, best for laser engraving and cloud software like Easel or Glowforge), a high-resolution Transparent PNG (best for image workflows and apparel) and a Cut Line SVG. 3D designs come as STL files. Each listing shows what it includes, and some listings do not include every file type yet. If you need a file type that is missing, contact us. EPS, DXF and PDF are available on request.
What machines and software do your files work with?
Vector files work with LightBurn, Vectric (VCarve and Aspire), Glowforge, xTool, Easel, Carbide Create and more. STL files are 3D models for 3D carving and 3D printing software. Every credit download also includes the KC Vector File Guide (PDF), with a compatibility chart and the recommended file type for your machine.
Licensing and reselling
What you are allowed to sell, and what you are not allowed to share.
Can I sell what I make?
Yes. The File License lets you make and sell finished physical products from our files, such as carved, cut, engraved or printed pieces, with no limit on how many. It covers every file you get from us, whether you bought it, downloaded it with credits or got it free. The license is personal to you: one person, or one business with one workshop, and it can't be transferred. Some designs depict military units, agencies or other organizations. The license covers our artwork only and gives no rights in anyone else's trademarks, insignia, badges or seals, and you are responsible for making sure your use and any sale of finished items comply with the law.
Can I share or resell the files themselves?
No. You may not share, resell, upload or give away the digital files, or edited versions of them, in any format. Selling or giving away the designs as digital products, templates, printables or cutting files is not allowed either. The license covers the finished physical products you make.
Can I use a design as my logo?
No. The File License does not allow using a design, or anything confusingly similar, as a logo, trademark or brand. If you have a use the license does not cover, contact us and we will tell you in writing whether we can allow it.
Orders and company
Refunds, and who is behind the files.
Do you offer refunds?
Digital files, credits and credit packs are non-refundable, and so are monthly membership payments. Annual membership payments can be refunded within the time limit in the Refund Policy, if none of that year's credits have been spent. We always refund duplicate charges, charges made after a completed cancellation, and orders we can't fulfill, such as a credit pack bought without an active membership. If a file is corrupt, won't open or isn't what the product page described, tell us within the time limit in the Refund Policy and we'll repair or replace it. If we can't, we'll refund that file, or return the credits you spent on it.

Yes. Kinetic Carving is a veteran-owned shop.

What do the tools cost?
KERF, CHIP and the Maker Directory are free and need no account. Across our tools, some are free and open to all, some need a free account, and some are for active members only. We may change which tools are free, members-only or available at all.
